![]() ![]() So what's plain "underrated," ten thousand?) So many of my books have fewer than a hundred. ![]() I was surprised to see that "really underrated" meant fewer than a thousand ratings. (Actually, until these lists I hadn't paid that much attention to how many ratings books had. I'm happier putting up something good that hardly anyone has heard of yet than I am adding the ten-thousandth rating to something. One of my reasons for cataloging books here is to help make people aware of the great book choices that are out there. Wodehouse and Douglas Adams when my contemporaries all seemed to be reading Peter Benchley and V.C. I grew up on old Pogo and Charles Addams and Bill Mauldin cartoons, and I was reading P.G. ![]() "Ĭome to think of it, I was never much in tune even with my contemporaries' reading tastes, and the books popular with my generation when I skewed young are not much found on my shelves.
